Modern windows with a historical feel

Aluminium windows for the Norwich Central Baptist Church in Duke Street, Norwich

The project manager at the Baptist church had obtained a grant to replace the windows, in order to reduce maintenance and provide a more comfortable environment for employees and visitors. Listed as a ‘building of historical interest’ by the city council, the church also needed to retain the appearance of the steel windows and bars.

We installed powder coated aluminium frames with a flat sash profile to match the slim profiles of the original windows. In agreement with the planning officers we also installed an aluminium bar to replicate the previous design. The double glazing greatly reduced noise levels from the adjoining road and the reduced heat loss and energy saving more than satisfied the grant award.
